讲座简介

Qualitative methods are fundamental to understand complex informational and organisational behaviours that include affective, professional and cognitive factors and are influenced by information literacies, professional competencies and personal characteristics.  The understanding of Information Systems (IS) in organisational settings is therefore not a mere technological development exercise, but a complex effort of linking all aspects of informational and organisational behaviours to the adoption, use, trust and exploitation of these systems in organisational settings.  Statistical analysis, even structural equations, are often not sufficient to address these levels of complexity.  This seminar will discuss the nature, usefulness and applicability of inductive qualitative research and explain what can be achieved with this type of method.  The seminar will also stress the need for rigorous application of these methods, rather than just using them as decoration for low quality research.

主讲人简介

Miguel Baptista Nunes（龙乐思）教授，理学博士，英国高等教育协会会员，英国计算机协会会员，中山大学信息管理学院教授。曾在世界顶尖的英国谢菲尔德大学信息学院任教，并长期担任谢菲尔德大学终身教员。龙乐思教授曾担任2018-2019年iSchools亚太分会主席、2017年ASIS&T亚太分会主席，他也是英国计算机协会和英国高等教育协会会员。此外，龙乐思教授也主持参与了多项科研项目，其中包括由中国、英国以及欧盟等多个国家与地区资助的项目研究。他的研究方向包括信息系统、知识管理以及信息管理，相关研究聚焦于信息系统建模、信息系统设计和开发、数据库设计与开发、项目管理、风险管理以及信息系统变革管理等领域，发表论文200余篇，出版网络学习行动研究书籍一部，并多次担任国际会议主席。龙乐思教授近期围绕以科技为中心的数字人文学科以及网络学习等内容开展相关研究，特别聚焦于课程和课程设计的社会建构主义方法、教学系统设计以及基于网络的主动学习和远程学习环境等研究主题的探索与讨论。
