       演讲人简介：

      Richard Karplus teaches finance in the M.B.A. program at Silicon Valley University near San Francisco.  He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in Mathematics in 1974 and his M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago in economics and international business in 1978.  Upon graduation, he began a 25 year career in strategic planning and business development at Conoco, a major international oil company.  During his time at Conoco, he worked in the United States, Norway, and Russia.  He retired from Conoco as Vice President in 2003 and has been teaching and consulting since then.
