讲座简介

Food safety is a significant public health issue. With increased foodborne disease and threats to food safety boost, governments developing more rigorous and meticulous food safety control systems. As an integral component of the food safety risk analysis framework, monitoring and surveillance have developed rapidly, and have resulted in increasingly available data. This talk will review recent advances in the access to monitoring and surveillance data in China and other parts of the world, and the types of analyses afforded by such data. Case studies from the literature are used to illustrate the analytical potentials and challenges in deriving insights from such data. We offer an assessment of the current practices and suggest further directions towards a data science of food safety research.

蔡国瑞，美国宾西法尼亚州立大学信息科学与技术学院副教授（终身），兰州大学管理学院萃英讲席教授，国际计算机学会（ACM), 电气电子工程师学会（IEEE), 和美国地理学会（AAG）会员； 国际遥感与测量学会第五工作组执委会委员；先后担任二十多次国际会议的评审组成员或审稿人；应邀数十次在大型国际学术会议上作专题报告； 常规的参加美国国家科学基金会，美国环境保护部年度基金，美国宇航局，国土安全部等机构的基金项目或科研计划项目评审组。担任十八种本学科重要国际学术刊物的编辑组成员或审稿人。
